The Center receives
approximately 50 calls per
week from victims with an
average of 2,600 calls per year.
We estimate twice as many
victims (5,200) would like to call
for assistance, but are too
afraid.

Of the 50 calls received per
week from victims, 90% are
from the northern Palm Beach
County area. In Palm Beach
County, there are as many as
2,400 domestic violence cases
at any given time waiting to be
adjudicated.

In our county, police are
averaging 285 domestic
violence arrests a month.

We are proud to announce that our Nurse Practitioner, Susan
Korman, received the
2011 Heroes in Medicine Award from the
Palm Beach County Medical Society on Wednesday, May 11, 2011
for her work at our FRCWC Health and Education Center.
Over 1,000 individuals have received free medical care and
education including domestic violence assessments since we
opened our clinic doors in 2009. It is part of our mission to provide
all underserved/uninsured/underinsured individuals with the
highest quality of healthcare, education and opportunities to lead
stronger, healthier and safer lives.
FRCWC was selected as a Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids Partner during
December, 2011. This holiday season, Payless ShoeSource, through their
grassroots partners, is giving $1.2 million in free new shoes to children in
need across the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Latin America.

More than 3,000 applicants from nonprofits across the United States and
Canada were submitted this year; FRCWC is very proud to have been
chosen to distribute 50 $20 coupons to families affected by family
violence.

A great pair of shoes can lift spirits, bolster self-confidence and bring a
huge smile to a child's face. FRCWC thanks Payless ShoeSource for their
wonderful generous gifts this holiday season!
